Cookies

Mom is making cookies right now.
I was going to help, but instead I am writing on my blog for all of my wonderful readers.
Hopefully they are ready soon. I could go for some homemade cookies!!!!!!

Connecticut

Right now, I am in Connecticut. Visiting my aunt and my aunt's son and my great grandma.
It was AWESOME seeing Meema. So sweet and nice. Her retirement home is really nice too.
THEY HAVE AN ICE CREAM PARLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

We are staying at Aunt Gila's in New Haven. It is a rockin' house. Love it!
Today, Aunt Gila's youngest son Gabriel came.
It is great to see him. Unfortunately, his wife Beth (so amazingly fabulous and nice and pretty) couldn't come. Hopefully, we will see her sometime soon. It was great to see Gabe. Haven't seen him in so long, since Emily and Dave's wedding. Haven't seen David in a while either. Maybe I will meet Elsbeth, his girlfriend sometime soon. That would be cool! Great things have been said about Elsbeth and she makes David happy which is great!

Tomorrow, supposedly Sadie and Dahlia are coming with Saba and Omi.
Hopefully that is not a fib, because it would be amazingly awesome to see them!

Hope all is well with everyone out there that reads my awesome blog.
Please please please comment so I know there are people out there that actually read my blog.
Please COMMENT SO I KNOW YOU READ MY BLOG! Please Follow as well!
Thanks. Love to everyone and a happy new year!

*I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Being a Vegetarian.......

OK, I like the thought of being a vegetarian, but it is really not going to work out.
Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone, but it is not going to happen.
For one, I need protein and taking away meat isn't a good thing especially when taking these Genotropin shots. Also, I really like steak and beef and hamburgers and chicken and it really would be hard for me to take those away from my diet so I am not a vegetarian anymore.

Thursday

Thursday. December 24th. The day before Christmas day. Let's summarize it: hectic.
Last minute shopping, food for the feast, picking up hand painted ornaments.
It is always something. Christians hurrying about getting ready for the biggest holiday of the year. Yep, that is December 24th for you.

For my family, it is preparing for our vacation trip.
Going to the supermarket for plane snacks, packing, and getting together fun stuff for the plane.
That is what I am doing tomorrow.

No rushing, no scurrying, no hurrying for the big event. None of that.
Of course, non other than a Jewish girl writes this. But it is the facts. The facts and nothing else.
The truth and sometimes the truth is painful but you just have to deal with it.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM GOING TO BOSTON ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VACATION!!!!!

My Arm

You remember how I broke 2 bones in my left arm this year?
Well, my arm is starting to hurt, but of course we are up in Breck and it went from sunny to snowy. My mom and dad say not to wory, but I just wanted to tell you guys!

Vegetarian

I think I am going to try to become a vegetarian, but I want to wait until the 20th when the poll ends, so I can hear what my readers have to say.

Also, the person that voted no was my mom because she doesn't think that I can do it, because I don't like lots of vegetables. Well, Mom, Yes I can!

The new poll is up!

The new poll is up.
Vote for if I should try out becoming a vegetarian!

Poll Results for What Holiday You Celebrate Around This Time of Year

The poll results are in.
Even though the poll has like 16 or whatever days left, I am going to just close it now. No one votes on it. 2 people voted and they both voted for celebrating Hanukkah.

The new poll will be up soon. This is the new poll:

Should I try out being a vegetarian?

Please vote

Maybe.......

I might want to try becoming a vegetarian.
I know it might be hard, especially because I love chicken and beef, and I don't really like tofu, but I am going to maybe try it.

What do you think?
I think I am going to try it, but I am still in the works of deciding.
I need your guy's help.

Should I try being a vegetarian?

D20 Meeting Results

Drumroll please!!!

The D20 meeting went really well. After my presentation, I answered 1 question and then we stayed for about 2/5 or 3/5 of the next presenter's slideshow and then we left. There is this boy named Robert who is trying to do the same for another middle school in the district and we have been emailing and we will meet to share our ideas after the new year.

My Science teacher Ms. Smith was also at the meeting and she said that she is interested in this as well and will be able to help and she is talking to Mr. Hain, the 7th grade principal who invited me to the Sustainability Committee meeting which got me to the D20 meeting which got me to contacting Robert.

I am off to a great start and we blog about what you can do to help.
After the new year, I will update how it is going with the Recycling!

Please Reycle!

School

I am going to get ready for school now.
I still have a while, but I can't think of anything else to write about.

I will write about what happened at the meeting tonight later or tomorrow.
Over and out for now!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Last night, India and I made Chocolate Chip Cookie batter for India's class.
We made cookies because she is having a Winter Party right before break.
I saw the cookies, how they turned out last night, and they look SO SO SO SO GOOD!!!!!!!
I really want one, but India insists that we can't eat them.
I mean, India, other people will being in cookies!!

I REALLY WANT A COOKIE!

Movie Suggestions

If you have any movies that you really love and feel you want to share, please comment or email me. I would love to watch them. Here are some movie suggestions of my own. They are not all the best and not all really for kids, but they are still pretty good movies. The ones that I really like have a squiggly line by the words. Here are my suggestions:

Miss Congeniality ~~~~~
Up ~~~~~
Akeelah and the Bee ~~~~~
Julie & Julia
The Proposal
Definitely Maybe ~~~~~~
Monsters vs. Aliens
Mamma Mia ~~~~~~~~
Harry Potter movies

There are TONS more but I am blanking on a lot of them right now.
If you have any movie suggestions, go ahead and comment or email me.
I would love to hear them. Thanks!

Movie Review

So as I told you I was going to watch 2 movies.
The first one was The Proposal and that was a pretty good movie.
It was a little slow at times and you could kind of predict what the ending was, but it was still an amazing movie. Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock are both so funny and they really get into the part. It is a pretty good movie.

The second movie I watched was Julie & Julia. That was a pretty good movie as well.
I didn't really like the ending, but overall it was a good movie. Meryl Streep and Amy Adams both do a wonderful job. They are both amazing actresses and they work really well together, even though they are not together in one scene! Overall, it was a pretty good movie as well.

Both not exactly for children but pretty good movies.
Julie & Julia switches back and forth between 2 time periods and then it starts to get a little confusing at times. But a good movie.

Today

Today there is a 2 hour delay. That means I have to walk to the bus at 9:15, but I probably won't because I have to be at school at 9:00 for the Academic Challenge Team. It usually meets on Wednesdays at 7:00, but since there is a 2 hour delay I am figuring that it will start at 9:00. Hopefully I am right!

Tonight, at 5:00 there is the district meeting thing that I am going to to present my slideshow presentation on Recycling. I will tell you how that goes. After the meeting, we are getting something to eat, and then going to guitar and dance at Colorado Academy of Music and Dance.

Pretty busy day today, huh?
More later....

Movies

We went to Safeway because we went to yoga and decided to go to the super market and we got 2 red box movies. One of The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock and the other one is Julie & Julia with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. I will give a review after I watch both of them.

Also, has anyone seen Knowing with Nicholas Cage?
If you have, tell me what you think of it because I want to see it.
Thanks!

Recycling rocks!

Bat Mitzvah Party Location Picked!

So, on Thursday, my whole family went to the Phantom Canyon restaurant.
There are 3 levels, the first one is like a bar, not a very pretty level.
The second level is Billiards.
The third level is sort of a wrap around area where you can hold events and that is where we are going to have it. It is really pretty. I am excited!

Breck

So, my uncle came in from California on Monday. Uncle Chuck!
Then we went up to Breckenridge Wednesday and we are staying until today, Sunday.

It has been a great time.
We shopped, walked around, went to the rec center, stuff like that. It was all fun.

My Thanksgiving was great. Some family friends came up with us so in total there were 9 people, me, my sister, my dad, my mom, my uncle and then the other family, the Smiths.

Our turkey, 2 types of stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, green beans and pumpkin pie were great! You can't forget the Sparkling Apple Cider!!!!! YUM!!

Friday was Black Friday as people refer to it as and I went shopping at about 9:00 A.M with my mom and my sister. We went first to Goods, a really really awesome trendy clothing store, but it also has shoes, home stuff ( candles, stuff to hang from your ceiling, etc.) cards, little do dads, really cute bags, hats, just stuff like that. It is an awesome store.

Anyway, a lot of there stuff is expensive, so we headed over there and me and India ended up getting really cute hats that will count toward our Hannukah presents, but we would get them now. Mine is a Koala and it has big white puff balls on either side and then it has like the koala face and it is gray and the hat goes over your ears naturally so your ears are warm!!

I love it. i think it is so cute!!
If you are interested in buying one of these cute hats ( they come in many animals like dog, frog, pig, coyote, owl, stuff like that, India got an owl!!) you can go to this website:

knitwits.com and you can contact them at info@knitwits.com.
They are really cute and fuzzy and warm. They are made from wool and cotton and stuff.

I hope your Thanksgiving was amazing like mine!
I want to hear all about it. Feel free to tell me about your stories in the comments section!

Also, on Friday it was one of my best friend's birthday, so I just wanted to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uncle Chuck!!

My Uncle Chuck arrived yesterday and my grandparents left yesterday.
I am very excited to see him and hang out and stuff!!!

I am either going up to Breckenridge, Colorado tonight or early tomorrow morning, so I want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I just want to wish everyone an early Thanksgiving.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

Our Rooms

My sister and I decided to put our rooms together, so my sister and I know sleep in the same room. We moved my bed into her room and her bookshelf into my room, so one room is like a "lounge" and one is the bedroom. It is cool and me and India both like it.

Can't wait for you guys to see it!

Just Stuff...

Hey everyone!

As you know, there wasn't any Sunday School today, but Mom's Yoga Teacher Training was still on. It was snowing sort of hard throughout the day and a lot last night, but not much this evening. Hopefully nothing more than a 2 hour delay because tomorrow I am meeting with Mr. Hane, the 7th grade principal with my LA teacher, Mr. Markham to discuss the recycling project. Also, tomorrow is the play A Mid Summer Night's Dream and I hope we have school because we saw a little bit of it in school and it was very good and funny.

The holidays are approaching fast!
I am very excited for Thanksgiving!!!

My Uncle Chuck is coming to town for Thanksgiving.
I haven't seen him in a while, since last Thanksgiving I think and I am excited to see him.

Also, my grandparents are coming on Thursday for Grandparent's Day at India's school.
Every year, the 3rd graders perform for Grandparent's Day which is were your grandparent can come to school with you and there is a show, and then you can show them around the school and stuff. My grandparents always try to come to it, but this year especially because India will be performing in a play.

I also have a birthday party sleepover with one of my friends from Sunday School.
There will probably be a lot of people I don't know but as long as I have fun!

It is Saturday at like 7:30 to 4:30 on Sunday.
It is a pretty late party.

I think I will stay for the whole thing, but maybe maybe leave early so I can spend time with my grandparents, but they mostly came for India anyway, so it will be quality time with India. Anyway, we will be seeing them in about a month after they leave for Hannukah, so it is not like it will be a while until we see them again, right?

Sunday School Snow Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is Sunday and I just woke up and my mom told me that Sunday School is cancelled because of the snow!!!!!!! I am excited because I don't really like Sunday School.

Mom has her Yoga Teacher Traning today too starting at 1:30.
Wonder if that is going to get cancelled...............

The poll is up and ready to be voted on!

The new poll is in and as follows:

What is your favorite performance to watch?????

Romance
Drama
Comedy
Horror
Mystery
All of them!
A mix

I don't enjoy watching plays or musicals

PLEASE VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poll

A new poll will be up soon, but what should it be about???????

6th grade service

Tomorrow morning, there is to be a Saturday morning service, like all Saturdays but it will be led by the 6th grade class. I will be going. It starts at 9:30 and then there is lunch after wards.

It will be ok. Extra practice for my Bat Mitzvah.
Not all people in my class care about learning Hebrew and practicing the prayers for your Bar/Bat Mitzvah an that makes me a little sad. Why not??

Anyway, I will tell you how the service goes.....

A Mid Summer Night's Dream

At our school, the 8th grade is putting on a production of A Mid Summer Night's Dream. My mom, my sister and I are going to it Monday night. I am excited to see the play.

We watched a little under half of the play or something in school and it was really good.
Probably just extra practice for them.

It is not the whole 8th grade though.
You have to try out and if you get in, it becomes one of your exploratories, which are like electives like art, band, drama, choir, woodshop, gym, foreign language, etc.

I am excited to see it.
I will tell you how the play goes!

Bat Mitzvah Project

OK, so I talked to Mr. Markham, my LA teacher and he said that he got a response from Mr. Smith, our main principal and he said that Mr. Hane would be the one to talk to who is the 7th grade principal. Mr. Markham and I are meeting up with him during lunch on Monday.

I am excited to discuss my ideas and interests.
Today, I took home a huge bag of cans and bottles and stuff to recycle.
On my own, with the help of my friends to collect.
It was hard to jam it all into my stupid half locker.

Poll

I have decided I am going to change the poll.
Sorry to everyone, 2 people, that voted, but thanks for voting and supporting my blog!

I will be changing the poll sometime in the next few days.

Holiday Break Plans

GUESS WHAT I AM DOING FOR HOLIDAY BREAK????

I get to go to Boston, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut with my sister, my mom, and then my dad is meeting up with us there. ISNT THAT SO EXCITING!!!

I am really excited, because I have never been to Boston, or not that I remember of it, and we get to see lots of family, and friends. We are going to be mostly taking trains to go from Boston to Connecticut and Connecticut to New Jersey, etc.

I am so excited. The trip will be very fun!!!!
What are YOU doing for the holidays?

I would love to hear. Comment or email!

Bat Mitzvah Project

Yesterday, I met with my Language Arts teacher to discuss what I could do for my independent project for school ( my goal in TAG) which could tie in with my Bat Mitzvah Project.

So far, my LA teacher and I have come up with getting recycling bins for the cafeteria.
My LA teacher, Mr. Markham sent an email to our principal, Mr. Smith and we are trying to set up a date to talk to him during lunch or after school.

If that got approved, we could move on to such like school sporting events, and other things like that, and maybe expand to getting sweatshirts and shirts and shorts for our school ( which we already have) but we could maybe make some of them green and out of 100% recycled material, and then maybe if we wanted to go that far ( this would take maybe a few years, but..) we could expand recycling to all D20 schools ( our school district) and that could turn into my Bat Mitzvah.

I want to know what you think.
If you don't even know me as in family or friend, or you don't even know what a Bat Mitzvah is, this doesn't concern you. :)

Hebrew School

Today, I have Hebrew School.........

Academic Challenge Team

At my school for TAG students, there is an Academic Challenge Team and one of my best friends, Kelsey and I have decided to do it together! You create a team and meet once a week with the TAG teacher and you compete in trivia matches and stuff. More info coming soon!

Eloise

My cat, Eloise got into the vent a few days ago.
One of our cats, Daphne can open up the vent with her paw, and Eloise slid down the vent and was in the vent for a long time, or a pretty long time, not sure how long in particular. My dad ended up getting here out by getting her out of a vent in a basement with a screwdriver standing on a chair. Oh Eloise. Now we put weights on some of the vents to at least prevent some of the vents from opening, but hopefully it won't happen again!

Missoula Children's Theater, God Family

Every year, Rockrimmon Elementary, which was where I used to go and where my sister does go, the PTO hires Missoula Children's Theater to come. Missoula Children's Theater sends 2 people, a couple of people, that travel around the country going to different schools putting on the same play for 1 whole year. So far, there has been Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel. This year it is Pinnochio. India is in the play and she is a Pleasure Isle Kid. Her line is "Oh Yeah" which brings back memories of when I was the 7th dwarf in Snow White. I was Tamborine. I carried around a tamborine and I got to say "Oh Yeah" every time I spoke except for one time that I said "Oh No". It was a fun play. Every year, there is a different couple of people that come to schools for 1 week each. They have tryouts for the play on Monday, and rehersals all that week, and they have the final performances on Friday night and Saturday morning. Pinnochio had it's first final performance last night. It was really good and some parts of it were SO FUNNY! The 2nd and final of the real performances is today at 11:00. I am excited to see it again, but it won't be as funny because yesterday one of my best friends, Kelsey went and we laugh together SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!! But I am still excited to see the play again. After the play, we get to go to Squeak Soda Shop, which is a shop where you can get ice cream, and candy, and soda, and there is also real food like popcorn, pretzels, sandwiches, cotton candy, stuff like that. One of my favorite parts is the paintings on the wall. They are absolutely amazing! One of my other favorite parts is the soda. They have a few steps to having your soda. It is not just like " Oh look, here is a Coca-Cola in this big class container at the checkout, I will have this, 1 soda and a cotton candy please." It is not like that. First, you go over to the Smelling station. They have little test tubes that are on racks and the test tubes are labeled with their flavor and you get to decide on your flavor based on the smell. It is cool. Then you go over to the counter where the guy is standing and you tell him your flavor. Then he asks you if you want it to be with Splenda or real sugar and then you get to pick a size and you also get to pick a color, like light blue, dark orange, pink, in the middle purple. It is a very cool place. They also have a Wii and lots of board games including Monopoly, Scrabble, an assortment of Cranium games, BattleShip, stuff like that. It is a rockin' place. I have been there 3 times and I am going there again today in honor of India's play and also because if you are in the play and you go to Squeak on one of the performance days, you get a coupon.

Also, my god family from Durango are coming today because their dad has a conference in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor. I am very jealous because the Broadmoor is the fanciest and the coolest and the prettiest hotel in Colorado Springs, but I guess I am not too jealous, because it is just a hotel, and also because we are meeting up there with them to go swimming and get takout from a restaurant, not a restaurant at the Broadmoor. I am excited to go swimming. It will be the 2nd time since I broke my arm. I don't want to forget my goggles!

World Series 2009 Game 6

Well, you probably heard already but yesterday night was Game 6 of the World Series.
I watched it after I got home from dance, and the Yankees won.

I am happy for the Yankees, but I was counting on the Phillies.
I still absolutely love the Phillies though and I always will! Go Phillies!!!!

The score was 7-3 Yankees.

Lots of people in my grade at school were rubbing it in my face at school because they knew that I really wanted the Phillies to win. Too bad they didn't win, but I am now over it.

Hopefully, they have another great year and they make it to the World Series again, but we can only hope. Anyway, it is not like it is the center of my life. I have much better things on my mind and in front of me, but when the time comes around, why not get involved?

Retirement Home

Today, the 6th grade Choir took a fieldtrip to Viewpointe Retirement Home, which is 2 miles from our school. We went to sing to them there. It was very heart touching and it made me want to cry because I was happy when I saw them clapping their hands and singing along.

It was fun and I am very glad we went there!
It was enjoyable to sing to them and see their faces light up when we sang the songs.
I also felt sad too, because my choir teacher said that most of the people at the retirement home don't get many visitors, and that made me sad. I am glad we went.

After we were done singing, we shook their hands and lots of them said that they wanted us to come back and sing christmas carols for the holiday. I loved that they said that, but you could tell that they didn't get many visitors.

Mixed emotions. Sad, happy, heartwarming, joyful.....

World Series 2009 Game 5

THE PHILLIES WON!
The final score was 8-6 Phillies.

FINISHED Snow Cone Story!!!

Here is my full FINISHED Snow Cone Story. Enjoy:

Nelda vs. Carmen

Natasha Clarke

All right, so you have all heard of The Wizard Of Oz, right? You all know Dorothy and the tin man, but do you know the other side of the story? I don’t mean the evil version but I do mean where Snow Cones vanish forever, Dorothy lends her ruby red slippers and The Wicked Witch Of The West’s 2nd cousin 34 times removed on her step aunt’s side of the family melts. Does it sound familiar? Well, it all started with Nelda Rodriguez and Carmen in the south part of the Land of Oz. Carmen is a girl who loves Snow Cones. She absolutely loves Snow Cones and she gets them every day down at the Snow Cone Palace, a Snow Cone vendor in Hodgkin’s Alley, the official vendor’s street. One particularly warm afternoon, Carmen was skipping along with her pet unicorn Angelina when Nelda happened to be looking out the window of her very nice apartment. I can say so myself because I have been over for tea and biscuits. However, Nelda was watching Carmen eat her Snow Cone when she realized that Snow Cones make little children too happy so she decided to take them away forever. She was planning on ruling the world someday, and without the nasty brats around she would finally be able to make her dreams come true! But how?? Meanwhile, Carmen was enjoying her Snow Cone when she decided that her life was going just as planned. Snow Cones were as great as ever and her unicorn was healthy. Everything was perfect, or so she thought.

Later after Nelda had decided she was going to take away Snow Cones, she started to build a shrink ray. That way she could shrink all the Snow Cone vendors and keep them in a box in her closet with 4 locks. Her plan was coming along well. She was working extra fast for she was going to shrink all the Snow Cone vendors at night so people would wake up to misery and sorrow. She loved watching other people suffer. She was very evil. That following night she put her plan into action. The following morning, all the citizens of her crummy town would wake up to nothing but sadness. The next morning, as the sun was coming up over the horizon, Nelda reminded herself that this perfect day would go to waste in the hands of many of her fellow citizens and she felt 10 times happier, while Carmen decides that it is a perfect day to get a Snow Cone!

Walking down to the Snow Cone Palace with Angelina, Carmen was debating what flavor she would get, but she would soon learn that she wouldn’t need to, and soon it was. If you were there that day, you wouldn’t have missed the racquet. She got so heartbroken that she couldn’t get her beloved Snow Cone. But it was doing so well when she had saw it last! It couldn’t have gone out of business. She had to think things through, so she decided to take a jog. That jog turned into a walk and that walk lead her right to her best friend Dorothy’s house on the other side of Oz. Here is a fun fact for you: Over the course of the year after Dorothy had returned from the Land Of Oz, she decided that she wanted to be closer to all her friends and especially Carmen, so she moved back, and she loves it! Any who, Carmen hadn’t seen Dorothy in ages and was glad to see her. After they had caught up on news and such, Carmen started to tell Dorothy about the Snow Cone fiasco. Everyone knows Dorothy’s magical shoes, right? Well, as you know, back in the day, when Dorothy wanted to go home from the Land of Oz, her ruby red slippers helped her get back to Kansas, so Dorothy (who was a very smart girl, went to Stanford you know) had the best idea to lend Carmen her ruby red slippers to get Snow Cones back! So Carmen thanked her friend and headed back to the other side of the Land of Oz.

Carmen was making her way back home just as it started to rain. Oh perfect, this day is great! The only good thing was seeing Dorothy and getting the slippers. The slippers! She had already forgotten them! All right, how do you do this again? Click your heels together and make a wish. That’s it! She said to herself “I want Snow Cones, I want Snow Cones, I want Snow Cones!’ After Carmen finished her wish, she ran all the way home ignoring the rain the whole way. When she got back to the southern part of The Land Of Oz, she ran right to the corner of Hodgkin’s Alley and Broadway to where she left her unicorn tied to a street lamp. She felt so relieved that she had her unicorn and she had made her wish that she skipped all the way home and went to bed early. At 8:24 the next morning, she went as fast as her little legs could carry her all the way to Hodgkin’s Alley to the Snow Cone Palace which was there! She was relieved and very ecstatic. She went over to the Snow Cone Palace where Rosalind, the annoying owner of the vendor was, but she was so happy and overjoyed to have Snow Cones back, she hugged Rosalind for 3 whole minutes. Rosalind of course didn’t know what was going on, because she had been in a box in a closet. When she finished squeezing the guts out of Rosalind, Carmen asked what happened. Rosalind was very confused and tired, and claimed to have a headache, but still confessed to have been shrunken into a box and put into some evil person’s closet above Hodgkin’s Alley. Because Carmen loved Snow Cones and because she was very dedicated to them, she decided to investigate who took the Snow Cones. From the description Rosalind told her, she automatically knew that it was Nelda Rodriguez. Everyone knew Nelda was an evil person and everyone knew that she lived above Hodgkin’s Alley in 6437, so Carmen slowly made her way to Apartment # 6437. She went slowly because now that Snow Cones were back, who cared about going fast? After about 5 minutes, she arrived at Nelda’s apartment. She rang the doorbell and no one answered so she pushed the door open and walked in. Right away she noticed a big pile on the floor. Now, everyone also knew that Nelda was a very neat and orderly person, so this wasn’t like her so she knew something wasn’t right. Carmen very nervously made her way to the heap of clothes to investigate the pile. She realized that they were only clothes. Now Carmen knew her fairytales and movies, and she also knew that Nelda was related to a movie star, an evil movie star she realized. Now Carmen also knew that her best friend was an actress as well, so piecing things together Carmen realized that Dorothy worked with the Wicked Witch of the West’s 2nd cousin 34 times removed on her step aunt’s side of the family. So everyone knows how the Wicked Witch of the West died right? In the Wizard of Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West melted and Nelda melted too! She now got it! Wow, this has been a lot for one day! She decided that she would take Angelina home and think things over, but first she had to make a few calls. First, she called the Police Department to investigate the scene of Nelda. She also called Dorothy to inform her of what happened, and to invite her over to her house for tea and biscuits to celebrate getting Snow Cones back but also to celebrate the ending of Nelda Rodriguez. Now usually Carmen and Dorothy didn’t like celebrating the death of other people, but this was an exception. Carmen also called the TV network so they could report that the Wicked Witch of the West’s last living relative died. Now the Rodriguez family was gone forever. Here is another fun fact for you: the Wicked Witch of the West’s real name is Eugnacia Mergatroid Rodriguez. Most people don’t know that either. Nelda and I were friends when she was alive and solid and she had told me what the Wicked Witch of the West’s real name was when we had tea and biscuits together weekly. The Wicked Witch of the West didn’t like her name because she didn’t want to be disrespected for having such an out of the circle name. She felt ashamed, so she shortened it to Elphaba and then somehow went from Eugnacia Mergartroid Rodriguez to Elphaba to the Wicked Witch of the West. Weird, right?

32 years later.

Yes, that is the story of how I defeated the Wicked Witch of the West’s 2nd cousin 34 times removed on her step aunt’s side of the family. Yes, that is really me, Carmen Lopez Smith. I know, my husband Robert doesn’t believe it either after 24 years either. “Grandma C, when is Grandpa Bob going to get here?” chimed Carmen’s grandchildren Rhythm and Willow. Soon children soon. While we are waiting, why don’t we have some Snow Cones?

Tell me what you think!!

My Choir Performance!

My choir performance is on Tuesday!!! Eeep!

World Series 2009 Game 3, October 31,2009 Recap

Last night, Halloween, was Game 3 of the World Series in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Cole Hamels, as you know was scheduled to pitch for the game against some Andy guy from the Yankees. They had a rain delay so they started 1 hour and 20 minutes after the scheduled starting time. I went trick-or-treating with my dad and my sister around I don't know 6:30 or something. Not many people were out. We saw more people when we got further down the street. It was nice weather. There was snow on Friday, but it melted throughout the day on Friday and maybe a little bit on Saturday and there were patches of snow here and there but it was nice and not icy or that cold either. It was also a pretty light night. Lighter than most nights recently which was good too. When we got back to the house from trick-or-treating, it was only the 3rd inning of the World Series game. I was very excited to see the game, but soon into the game, I think it was the 4th inning, Cole Hamels got booted and wasn't allowed to pitch for the rest of the game because he was doing badly. I got so so so mad. I love Cole Hamels, and the night he pitches in the World Series, and the first time I had seen him pitch since the World Series 2008, he gets booted and doesn't get to play. I was very mad and you could tell that he was too. Hopefully he gets over it just as I slowly am and I hope also that the Phillies win the World Series, unlike Game 3. The final score was 8-5 Yankees, but at first when I got back from trick-or-treating it was 3-0 Phillies. The Yankees stepped it up and won Game 3. Right now the game score is 2-1 Yankees but I know the Phillies will come around and win it all. I KNOW IT!

Here is a little clip I found on the internet of some interviews with people like Jimmy Rollins, shortstop for the Phillies and Charlie Manuel, the manager or the coach or something of the Phillies. Please enjoy. The URL is posted below.

Trunk Or Treating

Tonight, we went to Trunk Or Treating at my sister's elementary school.
It is where families dress up the back of their cars and give candy out. It is done in the school parking lot but there is also pizza, dessert, drinks, and a DJ inside. It is a pretty cool night. It was fun, and I enjoyed it, and tomorrow is Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Logging Off

All right, I am logging off for now.
I will log on again in the afternoon!

Again, Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

I hope you are having an amazing Friday!

Movies

I have seen 2 great movies recently. One in theaters and one on DVD.

The first one I saw was called Penelope and it is about this girl that hides herself from the world because she has a nose of a pig. It is hard to explain but there is a curse where if Penelope marries another Blue Blood ( she's a Blue Blood) then the curse would be broken and she would have a normal nose again. It is hard to describe but it is a really really great movie and it really makes you want to believe in yourself and it leaves you with the message of that it is not the beauty on the outside, it is what is inside that counts or always have hope or you are beautiful in your own special way.

It is rated PG for thematic elements, some innuendo and language.
It is a really fantastic movie!

Here is 2 trailers for the movie.
The URL below has 2 video clips on it.

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809419496/trailer

I also so with my mom and my sister Where The Wild Things Are.
It was also an amazing movie but it was suprisingly very very sad.

I cried maybe once or twice, but my sister about half the movie.
It is hard to explain, but I love all the wild things from Judith to Ira to KW to Carol to Douglas. KW, which was one of the Wild Things had 2 owls named Bob and Terry and they were so cute and funny. It was a sad but funny, heart touching movie.

It is rated PG.

Here are some URLs for some trailers for Where The Wild Things Are.

http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3225158169/ - Trailer #2
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3413574425/ - Trailer # 1

They are both great movies, I recommend you to see both.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma

For anyone that is reading this book or wants to read it, I am not going to tell a summary of what I have read so far because I always give away a little too much or don't know how to word something, so I will just tell you that it is AMAZING so far. I love it!

If you are thinking of reading it, before you start thinking about it, make sure that you have read the first 2 first, because the 3rd one won't make sense if you haven't read the 2nd and the 2nd won't make sense if you don't read the first! Just a little bit confusing, right?!

Here is the order of the books-

The Mysterious Benedict Society- first
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey- second
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner;s Dilemma- third and one I am reading

All the books are by Trenton Lee Stewart, a very gifted and talented author.
You should read them!!! They are all AMAZING!!

World Series 2009 Game 2

Yesterday night, Thursday night, was Game 2 of the World Series 2009. The Yankees won with the final score being 3-1. The next game will be on Saturday which happens to be Halloween. Today, Friday, is a traveling day. My dad told me that the teams have a traveling day to travel from one team's stadium to the other. The World Series was played at the Yankees stadium the first 2 games and now there are switching over to the Phillies. New York to Pennsylvania.

I am very sad. My favorite player is Cole Hamels. As you know, because I have told you, he is number 35, a left hand pitcher. Now if you watch baseball, you may know that pitchers don't get to play as often as some of the other players do like short stop or 3rd baseman or something, and Cole Hamels is FINLLY playing. I haven't seen him play since the last World Series, and he happens to be pitching on HALLOWEEN! Seriously, Halloween! Halloween is a time where I like to go out with my dad and my sister in costume and go around to all the houses in our neighborhood begging for candy, and now that Cole Hamels is pictching on that night, I will only get to see a little of the last 1 or 2 innings, but a little is better than nothing!

My Week

This has been a crazy week.
My choir performance is on Tuesday, meaning we will have had 3 days to practice in the Wing Space, which is the auditorium. We started practicing in the Wing Space on Tuesday, so so far we have only gotten to practice 1 day on the stage we will perform on. I am not sure if our choir performance will be pushed back or postponed or something like that. When I find out, I will let you know.

This has been my week so far.

Monday- Normal
Tuesday- 2 Hour Delay
Wednesday- Closed
Thursday- Closed
Friday- 2 Hour Delay

It has been a weird week!

Yankees or Phillies?

So far, there is 1 vote for the poll for who you are voting for in the World Series.
I am not going to vote, but I want you all to know that I am voting for the World Series and that THE PHILLIES ARE GOING TO WIN! I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS! THE PHILLIES ARE GOING TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May the best team win ( Phillies!)

World Series 2009 Game 1

For Game 1 of the World Series 2009, the Philadelphia Phillies won!!!!!!!!

The score was 6-1. Cole Hamels, my favorite player didn't pitch but he will pitch for Game 3.

World Series Game Score: Phillies 1, Yankees 0

Phillies are in the lead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE THE PHILLIES!

Poll

I know that it is not October 31st yet and that when was when officially the recent poll was going to close, but I am bumping it up to today, right now because not a lot of people voted for it, so I am just going to put a new poll in.

Here are the Results for What Are You Going To Do On Halloween:

Go Trick-Or-Treating- 1 vote, 25%
Give Out Candy- 2 votes, 50%
I don't care about Halloween so nothing- 0 votes 0%
I don't celebrate Halloween- 0 votes- 0%
Go to a Halloween Party- 1 vote- 25%
Other- 0 votes- 0%

Thank you so much to everyone that voted on the Halloween poll and the next poll is:

Which team are YOU voting for to win the World Series?

Philadelphia Phillies or the New York Yankees?

World Series!

The World Series is tonight!
I am very excited and I really want to watch it.

It is Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Yankees.

I am voting for the Phillies to win.
My favorite player is Cole Hamels. He is jersey # 35 and he is a left hand pitcher.

Go Phillies!

No School

Today, we have no school, but that is weird because there is no reason not to have school.
It appears to be ok out At first, we had a 2 hour delay but then it changed to Closed.

That is sort of bad because our Choir performance is on Tuesday and we just missed an extra day to practice. I hope that we will still do well in the performance on Nov. 3.

I don't actually even like no school unless I know that there isn't any.

Like when someone just tells you that there is no school, it sort of brings you down because maybe you were looking forward to classes, your friends, I don't know, just stuff.

I wonder if my dance studio will be closed tonight too. I should probably check!

Choir Performance

I am in Choir which is for a semester and we have been learning songs and dance moves and we will be performing these moves on November 3rd. I am really excited but sort of nervous too. Also, with our Choir group, during school 2 days after our Choir performance, we get to sing at a nursing home. That will be fun and my mom and dad already signed the permission form and brought in $3 for the cost of the bus transportation.

I think it will be fun.
I am excited!

My Short Story!

Here is my short story.
Please read it over and tell me if there are any grammatical mistakes, if anything doesn't make sense, if I messed something up or something like that. Down at the bottom of the story, there are some blanks. Please don't tell me about those. I know about those and I am still working on them. Thanks.

I know of some errors but I have corrected them on paper. Please note on if there are any mistakes just in case. Here it is! Please enjoy!

Most people don’t know that piece of information because Dorothy just decided to move back there a few months ago. It was in the news but only a very small paper written way out east. How they found out we are still wondering. Anyway…

Carmen was making her way back home just as it started to rain. Oh perfect, this day is the best! The only good thing was seeing Dorothy and getting these ruby red slippers. The slippers! Elphaba and I were friends when she was solid and alive and she had told me what the Wicked Witch of the West’s real name was when we had to tea and biscuits together weekly. The Wicked Witch of the West didn’t like her name because she didn’t like to be disrespected for having the name of a drink. She felt ashamed, so she shortened it to and then somehow went from Margarita Anne Rodriguez to the Wicked Witch of the West. Weird, right?

32 years later.

Yes, that is the story of how I defeated the Wicked Witch of the West’s 34 time removed 2nd cousin on her step aunt’s side of the family. Yes, that is really me, Carmen Lopez Smith. I know, I know, my husband Robert doesn’t even believe it after 24 years either. “Grandma C, when is Grandpa Bob going to get here?” chimed Carmen’s grandchildren Esme and Willow. Soon children soon. While you are waiting, why don’t we have some Snow Cones?

Short Story

We are writing short stories in Language Arts and I am writing mine and I was wondering if you guys wanted to hear it. I am not finished writing it or anything, but sometimes I will be sharing it with you guys as I move along in the plot. I don't want to share it in this post, but in this post I will tell you what it is about.

Characters-

Carmen the Snow Cone fanatic
Angelina the Unicorn
Dorothy, Carmen's best friend
Elphaba Rodriguez the villain that takes away Snow Cones ( she is also the wicked witch of the west's 34 tims removed 2nd cousin on her step aunt's side of the family)

Setting-

The Land of Oz where the whole story is based
Hodgkin's Alley which is the official vendor's street
Rodriguez's Lair which is her apartment over Hodgkin's Alley
Snow Cone Palace- Snow Cone vendor on Hodgkin's Alley where Carmen gets her Snow Cones every day
Dorothy's house out in the country of the Land of Oz.

Plot-
Elphaba Rodriguez is planning to take away Snow Cones because she feels that they make kids too happy, and Carmen gets so mad after Snow Cones are gone that she goes out to the country in the Land of Oz to where Dorothy lives and Dorothy lets her borrow her ruby red slippers to get Snow Cones back, and with the ruby red slippers Carmen gets Snow Cones back and Elphaba Rodriguez melts.

That is all I will tell you for now.
I will be showing you the short story over the course of when I write it.

What to talk about, What to talk about.....

I don't know what to talk about!
I have talked about the Phillies going to the World Series, about Halloween and Halloween costumes, I have talked about all kinds of stuff and my mind is blank on what to blog about now. Sometimes, I don't write on my blog for a while or a couple of days because I just don't know what to write ABOUT, so please don't get mad or anything when I don't write on my blog or I haven't been writing on my blog because sometimes things just don't come to me to write about. Thanks for being supportive and not getting mad.

(As you can see, I tell you your emotions for you!)

Blue River

Today it is Saturday night. I am up in Breckenridge with my sister and my dad.
We wet up this afternoon. I have had a terrible headache all day and it is still here but I will be going to bed soon so it will probably be all right. My mom isn't here in Breck with us because she is continuing with her Yoga Teacher Training which is every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. We went out to Breck Brewery for dinner. We were going to go to Denzamon which is a noodle and soup sort of japanese place. It is really good and we were going to go there but it happened to be closed. Lots of things are closed because it is not the summer and Ski Season hasn't started yet so it is off-season and lots of people don't come to town around this time.

We will be going home tomorrow afternoon, and tomorrow morning, I get to go swimming!
I am VERY EXCITED because I haven't been swimming since I broke my arm which was on July 29th, so I am very excited!!!! I will tell you all about it after!

Bat Mitzvah

I just want to tell everyone that my Bat Mitzvah is on January 22,2011. Save the date!
We will be sending out cards so you can save the date in 2010. I am very excited for it but it is very boring to learn the prayers and to go to Hebrew and Sunday school. My teacher is nice and all but I really hate the curriculum and we have to spend 2 1/2 hours there on Sunday, so it basically wastes half the day on Sunday every week. But Sunday is usually finalizing homework or hanging out with your family or something, but anyway.

Just wanted to let you know.

6th grade

6th grade is going pretty well so far. Homework was minor the first quarter but the teachers are now stepping the homework level up a notch. I still don't have that that much, but we had an atlas and latitude & longitude due over the weekend, but I finished that it class. Also, in Language Arts, we are writing short stories and we are supposed to be working on it each day.

It is pretty good so far. Sort of boring, sort of hard, but mostly fun. I like it so far.

Trunk Or Treating

At my sister's school, Rockrimmon Elementary there is this thing every year called Trunk Or Treating and it is before Halloween and it is run by the PTO. What you do is you fill out this piece of paper saying how many children will be there from your party and how many adults and then you pay $15 which allows you to Trunk Or Treat, and gives you pizza, drinks, and dessert.

Trunk Or Treating is where you wear your costume and you get to go Trick or Treating but instead of going house to house, you go car to car. You can decorate the trunk of your car and kids go around say Trick or Treat and the people that decorated the car run the car and they decorate it and make it the coolest they can make it and they give out candy, and there is a contest. Whoever has the coolest trunk wins something but I don't know what they win.

It is a cool night. My family is going. It will be fun. It is on Friday, October 30th.
I will tell you how it goes after it happens.

Happy Halloween!

What are you going to be for Halloween????????

Hey guys. I want to know what you want to be or what you are going to be for Halloween. I am going to be the Disney princess Bell from Beauty and the Beast. I already have my costume thanks to my grandparents ( thanks Omi and Saba) and I am very excited.

If you know what you or your children are going to be, tell me! I would love to hear!

Guess what?

I had such an amazing time at High Trails, but the night that I came back, I started to feel weird and then the next day, yesterday (Friday), I started to feel even worse so we went to the doctor and I learned I have the Flu, but I feel OK and I am taking medicine for it. My stomach hurts occasionally, my head hurts, I have a bad cough, and I ache all over.

Hopefully I will get better soon!
